Beit Magen David Adom — The National Command and Control Centre
On Haplada Street 5 in Or Yehuda stands Beit Magen David Adom — the National Command and Control Centre of the organisation. The building was inaugurated on 25 March 2009, replacing the previous headquarters that had operated on Yigal Alon Street in Ramat Eliyahu, Tel Aviv.
Magen David Adom's move from the heart of Tel Aviv to Or Yehuda reflects a trend that has characterised many organisations in those years: Or Yehuda's industrial zone, adjacent to the main junctions of Routes 2 (Ayalon) and 5 (Geha), offered excellent accessibility to Israel's central region alongside lower costs and more favourable conditions than the hubs of major cities — a combination that has gradually positioned the zone as home to corporate offices and major central bodies, such as Magen David Adom's National Command and Control Centre.
